Graphics

I  seriously enjoyed the visual communications module! We were all given a metaphor and with typography only and also imagery only we had to convey what the metaphor meant. My metaphor was 'swept under the carpet' which means to hide away a secret or an unwanted situation and the following images hopefully show the process and work that I undertook to depict this metaphor.

Over lapping the word carpet over the words 'swept under' so it looks like they are being swept under the carpet

Cermanics!!!

Ok so I'm a tad bit late putting all this up but for the past six weeks I've been trying out three electives. Cermanics, Painting and Visual Communications!

I started out with cermanics so this post will just deal with this. Our pieces were based on marking makings with indian ink which were inspired by photographs of an urban enviroment. Elaine and Kieran our tutors then showed us various techiques e.g Coil making, slad making, making bases, rolling slabs unto cylinders, throwing, glazing and raku! The following images are of my expereince in cermanics.
